例えば、半透過反射器がディスプレイ装置の照明の供給において用いられる場合、半透過反射器は、環境光のレベルが所定の閾値を上回るときに反射性状態に切り換えられることが可能であり、それ故、ディスプレイ装置は反射光を用いて照明される。
