多結晶の形態は、規則的な結晶の不規則配列と、中間の規則性を有する配列とを含んでいる。多結晶材料中の原子は、それぞれの結晶内で長い範囲の規則性を有しているが、結晶自体は、相互に長い範囲の規則性を欠いている。

Polycrystalline morphology is a crystalline structure that consists of a disorderly arrangement of orderly crystals and thus has an intermediate degree of order. The atoms in a polycrystalline material have long range order within each of the crystals, but the crystals themselves lack long range order with respect to one another.
